MY BIOGRAPHY
Francisca Cortés Guarachi
She’s a graphic designer (profession). She is a writer (vocation). She is an illustrator (hobby). She was born in Santiago, 1981. She lives in the countryside, is married, has 4 children, 5 dogs, a cat and a rooster.
Born in Santiago, in 1981. She was raised between the sea and the countryside. Thus she developed a deep love for nature, staying on each detail’s beauty, which led her to always be the slowest in everything. That virtue (calm) taught her to do the things that help her the most in her work today: to observe where there seems to be nothing, to listen in silence, to enjoy solitude, and to find great companions in her imagination and creativity.
After publishing “La Maravillosa Macedonia”, her successful first novel (which she illustrated too) Francisca began to visit his readers throughout Chile. The kids, eagerly asked her to continue the story that they had greatly enjoyed. So she did, and published it’s sequel. From there on she continued writing and illustrating different stories, as she discovered in pen and brushes a happy vocation.
Today she works (slowly and carefully) on diverse literary and artistic projects.
